SETUP -> Products (materials)

Products are what you sell. Products are a unique combination of these attributes:

• Trader (from SETUP -> Vendors)
• Variety (from SETUP -> Varieties)
• Pack type (from SETUP -> Pack types)
• Fruit size (from SETUP -> Sizes)
• Class (from SETUP -> Classes)
• Grade (from SETUP -> Grades)
• Brand (from SETUP -> Brands)
• Growing method (from SETUP -> Growing methods)
• Treatment (from SETUP -> Treatments)
• PLU (from SETUP -> PLU stickers)

Warning

Many attributes have standard codes in some industries. Be sure to investigate before making up new codes. For example 039 is the standard code for a Royal Gala apple.

Pipfruit specific

In the pipfruit industry products are known as Materials.

snapSales supports importing Materials, and the attributes listed above, from industry-standard master data EDI files. This is done from SETUP -> Tasks which processes files in LOGISTICS -> ImportEDI.

Note

The pipfruit master data files also include codes for attributes too.

Adding a product

• Code - product code.
• Fields as mentioned above.
• GTIN
• Product type - type of product, ie packed, unpacked, to repack.
• Country origin - country of origin

Weights and measures:

• Count - number of pieces.
• Net Kgs - weight of produce only.
• Gross Kgs - total weight (of produce and packaging).
• TCEs - number of TCEs (tray carton equivalent).
• Active? - untick if no longer used which will hide in lookup lists.
