    Varieties

    SETUP -> Varieties

    The variety of the produce. Variety is one the SETUP -> Products (materials) attributes.

    Varieties can be imported from master data using the Add from MD button at the top of this page.

    Note

    In snapSales a Variety (eg Royal Gala) is grouped into a SETUP -> Produce types (eg Apples or Pears) which, in turn, is grouped into a SETUP -> Categories (eg Pipfruit). In fact, a variety (eg Galaxy) may also have a Parent Variety (Royal Gala) providing up to 4 levels that may be summarised for reporting.

    • Code - variety code.
    • Description - variety description.
    • Short desc. - used by some reports.
    • Produce type - used to group varieties for reporting SETUP -> Produce types.
    • Strain of - optionally choose a parent variety. For example Galaxy might be considered a strain of Royal Gala.
    • Customs tariff - tariff code used in LOGISTICS -> Sales Customs documentation. Any . characters will be stripped out when sent to Customs but can be used here for readability. Use the lookup link to help you determine this code.
    • Customs tariff unit - tariff unit used in the LOGISTICS -> Sales Customs documentation. If omitted, Net kgs (KGM) will be used.
    • HS code - Harmonized System code, used for documentation. Use the lookup link to help you determine this code.
    • Alias(es) - when EDI files have different values to your Code, enter other codes here.
    • Active? - untick if no longer used which will hide in lookup lists.
