    SETUP -> Pack types

This describes the type of unit packaging. Examples: Z Pack carton; Retail Display Tray. Pack type is one the SETUP -> Products (materials) attributes.

Pack types can be imported from master data using the Add from MD button at the top of this page.

    • Code
    • Description
    • Short description - used in the invoice description.
    • Docs units - unit type used in documentation, enter as a plural. If not entered, the documentation will use "units". The list is a list of previously entered values.
    • UN Code - code used by the United Nations. Used by Customs and MPI.
    • Volume (m³) - enter if you want to display volume on the SLI (Seafreight Loadout Instruction).
    • Produce types - select SETUP -> Produce types the pack type is used for, if left blank, it will be used for all produce types. Used in other screens to filter pack types.
    • Alias(es) - when EDI files have different values to your Code, enter other codes here.
    • Active? - untick if no longer used which will hide in lookup lists.

    Weights

One or more weights can be entered for each pack type. Each combination of Net Kgs and Gross Kgs can optionally be filtered for specific varieties. These weights are applied to SETUP -> Products (materials) imported into snapSales. These are the weights that are used when calculating product weights for loadouts.

    • Priority - defaults to 10. Set at a lower value to check this record before others (when there could be multiple records).
    • Net Kgs - weight of produce only.
    • Gross Kgs - total weight (of produce and packaging).
    • Applies to - enter when the weights are different for produce types, grades, fruit sizes and/or variety.
    Note

Weights targeted at varieties will take precedence of weights entered without a variety filter.

    Pallets

These are the different pallet types this pack type can be stacked on. Used by LOGISTICS -> Packing plan

    • Pallet type - select from SETUP -> Pallet types
    • # units - number these packs that will make up a pallet.
